“I was really excited to hear this podcast, since I enjoy following news about Amazon and have read every book that’s been written about them. However, I was disappointed because the podcast doesn’t give you any new information at all if you’re even a casual observer of Amazon. And the questions it aims to answer are stupid. Like, why is Amazon building microwaves powered by Alexa? It seems obvious why would they would be doing this. They want to sell things that can be controlled by Alexa. It sounds like a pretty good business strategy to me. Why are we asking annoying questions that any moron already knows the answer to? Also, as many have noted, Jason Del Rey seems to have a pretty negative opinion of Amazon, which colors his coverage. Lastly, I can’t get past his voice. He sounds like he is baring/clenching his teeth and not closing his mouth all the way while he’s talking, and it is so distracting and really makes the podcast unlistenable in my opinion. He also speaks way too slowly, repeats information several times, and recaps incessantly, which is totally unnecessary. I enjoy all the other ReCode podcasts, so this was a real letdown.”
