Wonderfully Entertaining and Insightful
I'm three episodes into John August's limited podcast series " Launch" and I'm loving every word. It's an extremely well-written and well-produced audio journey through the publishing process that both writers and book readers will find entertaining and insightful. I spent nearly ten years working for two major publishing houses in various departments like subsidiary rights, editorial, and digital, so this podcast has been a walk down memory lane for me. But more importantly, I'm glad to see that John does it right. He digs into the details, interviews the professionals, and artfully communicates his fascination with the process and his joy and sense of fulfillment in delivering a finished book. It reminds me why I fell in love with writing and publishing in the first place.Read full review »

This podcast goes into the details of writing a book. I know. It doesn’t sound overly engaging, but it is. The author/narrator is a great storyteller. The first episode grabs your attention, and you can’t stop listening. Totally worth making me late everywhere for a week.
