“I highly recommend this podcast to all Intermediate level learners of French. The lessons are presented by a native French speaker and are almost entirely in French, spoken beautifully clearly and at a good pace (not as fast as French Language radio, for example, but fast enough to challenge and develop the listening skills of an intermediate level student). More advanced french vocabulary is explained in french, using simpler french vocabulary – I find this very effective as it helps you to tune into the french language without constantly referring back to english translations, so is a more authentic way of learning a language. The lessons draw material from blogs, newspaper articles & audio extracts etc., going through the material at a fairly natural pace initially, and then running through it more slowly, explaining any advanced vocabulary as it goes along. The Wednesday lessons cover grammar points and the Friday ones deal with key phrases for particular topics – all very useful stuff. The podcasts themselves are free, but there is backup materials (transcripts, exercises etc) available via their website if you subscribe to their French Teaching service. Overall, an excellent podcast which I have found very useful.”
