“Growing up, I would occasionally see these otherworldly, super-fancy regal-looking girls at the grocery store, the park, the library, and other public places, and I wanted to know them. They had long hair and were always in dresses. They looked so...beautiful and nice. I vaguely recall trying to make friends with one of these girls somewhere and feeling rejected when their mom called them away. My assumption was that I was not pretty or fancy enough. Wrong! Turns out they were in a CULT! Sadie Carpenter does a stellar job depicting her experience in the IFB and giving her audience insight into a thriving subculture that flourishes below the surface of American society.”
