With the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha set to start on June 24 and the election for the post of Speaker expected on June 26, there are some very interesting days ahead for the country politically. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners are likely to meet next week to decide the alliance candidate - someone that is acceptable to all their allies. Since the House has members from the ruling and Opposition parties, the Speaker's chair must be non-partisan. The BJP with 240 MPs would definitely want an experienced person from its party to manage the affairs of the House. How will that play out?
