Starts strong, but dips really early
Last year, I started reading the book series, and soon after I hoped for a solid podcast that would analyze the writing in depth, chapter by chapter. At first, this podcast did that well, but by the time they got halfway through the first book the hosts lost momentum. Some hour-long episodes would be only a few minutes of analysis intertwined with trivial complaints (they spent several minutes scoffing that a planet is called “Ix” because it’s the 9th planet — that’s maybe worth a quick mention if you don’t like it, but I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out why that’s such a big problem). I picked back up when they started Dune:Messiah, but unfortunately it’s completely lost its momentum — now it’s just a podcast complaining about the book series they claim to love. At this point, it’s too negative to enjoy.

I’m having a blast reading along with you ladies and hearing your thoughts on the book (and many other things!) after each chapter. I’m looking forward to continuing to listen and tackling the sequels for the first time!

Hopefully they continue the show through at least the original...Read full review »
