I found the podcast by looking for a good discussion on Elite: Dangerous. I was thrilled by the podcast as most game podcasts I find tend to feel like the audio equivalent of outrage video game YouTube channels. I think there is a sense of joy and maturity to their content that is hard to find....Read full review »

Love this podcast. I enjoy the fresh look at game criticism versus just a review they give. Also enjoy the people they bring onto the podcast a fresh different view into game design proses. Please keep up what you are doing I will die if you stop posting podcasts

This has become a staple podcast for me. I appreciate how much variety there is in terms of genre and modalities of the different games discussed. I hope to catch these guys at Gen Con someday if I can ever make it to Indiana! Please keep these episodes coming!

I always enjoy the discussion of the meaning behind games, not good/bad, but the expression of the soul within: the art of drawing a story out into an experience, and the mechanics of how that happens.

Didn't mind this podcast to start. Had some interesting conversation around some games, especially bioshock. Couldn't listen to your witcher 3 discussion, it just seemed so uninformed. Like no, the combat isn't dark souls...how many games make combat like dark souls? You lingered so...Read full review »

I tend to listen to this podcast while working out. I don't always agree with their opinions, but what fun would that be? They have great guests! As for the title "Literate Gamer"? I'm not sure that gives the best set of expectations. It is not stuffy or pedantic by any means. ...Read full review »

I thought I loved games? I'm nothing compared to these hosts! Deep looks into gaming, its history, and what makes gaming so great in every episode. I felt like I was getting a sneak peek into the behind the scenes history of gaming in their last episode. I look forward to tuning in for more.Read full review »

I like that these guys breakout their discussion of these games into categories, and that they’re talking about more than just personal preference. Video games are a complicated medium that can be enjoyed on different levels, and it’s nice to see that reflected in their discussions.

First, the show is a little rough around the edges. While it is apparent the hosts don't have a lot of experience hosting or producing podcasts, they actually manage to do a pretty good job of it. A little rough around the edges, but an otherwise fresh approach to video game reviews. They approach the subject matter with a through examination of the themes, motiffs, and other narrative elements. Yes, we wrote this review ourselves. No we are not above such things.
