Indispensable
As a mom of two young kids, I don't see as many movies in the theater as I used to, and my interest in awards season had waned as well. But this podcast kind of brought all that excitement back. Richard, Katey, and Mike's commentary has helped me decide how best to spend my (limited, but increasing!) time in the theater, and I find the discussion of the ins and outs of campaigning fascinating. I also appreciate the tone the hosts take, which is to say that they avoid that know-it-all attitude that many awards reporters have (which is extra ridiculous when so many turn out to be wrong, so often). But even more than that, I appreciate the way they keep it all in perspective. They don't take any of this too seriously, but they also recognize the actual material and cultural results of nominations/awards for those who receive them (or don't). Looking forward to another awards season with LGM!Read full review »
