Living History is a wonderful, insightful and entertaining podcast. Mat does an excellent job and his enthusiasm is inspiring. Has a podcast been done about the Battle of Hamel during World War 1? Recently found out that four U.S. Companies were attached to the Australian 4th Division. It would...Read full review »

I thought this was just brilliant. I’ve grown up on the legend of the battle and the threat of Nazi invasion. Without taking anything away from the achievements of the men and women of the RAF this podcast described really well why that invasion couldn’t have happened. I’m was all quite obvious...Read full review »

Really enjoying this podcast! Great selection of topics. Matt is an entertaining host, easy to listen too and his guests are fantastic. Followed up on this after hearing him on history hit with Dan Snow - if you like one, I think you will love both!

I am new to this podcast but really like it. Although I am based in Ireland the stories about Australian history are fascinating and particularly enjoyed the Ned Kelly pod. Keep up the great work Matt.

Whilst this is a good podcast, I have unsubscribed for the following reasons: Just listened to the episode from the lady from the Sydney Library(episode from July 2019), and one of the topics she covered was the Great Air Race 1919 - there are a number of factual errors too numerous to mention,...Read full review »

I really enjoyed the Apollo podcasts, it is still one of the greatest if not the greatest achievement of mankind to date in my opinion. These podcasts really do tell the story very well as well as a lot of interesting background information.

I can’t stop listening to these podcasts, it’s great to hear some of the great story’s that history has delivered but also some of the interesting issues not talked about from military history. Keep up the great work Mat.

Wow! Thanks Mat for this new mode of enhancing my knowledge and understanding of history from your podcasts. Aaron’s book ‘For Valour’..I want it now. I’ve already listened to it 3 times. Will Davies stories always leave me in awe so the topic of the last 100 days of WW1 will provide his unique...Read full review »

As usual, McLachlan's focus on facts rather popuralism is refreshing, and essential if our true history is to be preserved, and lessons learned from it.Read full review »

Although there are currently only three episodes in this podcast, I think this podcast series is going to be a new favourite of mine. Always a pleasure to hear our Australian friends who have collectively made a real effort to move away from the nationalistic view of military history towards a more nuanced view. This looks like it will be a great series of podcasts!
