Mason Bees
Without Theresa's episode on mason bees, I never would have known they existed. They have proven very successful in my garden, and my partner's garden -- he's now a mason bee guardian as well. Originally from Ohio, now living in the UK, there are so many things that are relevant to me. This podcast is relevant to both me and my partner, and we're always looking forward to lazy sundays when we both can listen to the podcast together. Bob's a breadmaker, I'm a bit of a gardner and a huge "fermentation girl". I've also taken on board of the fermentation of cabbage, as you cannot get good sauerkraut in the UK. I've made my staple food for us both and we are both convinced, the sauerkraut is better than what we buy. I'm also a hobby gardner - not trying to be hugely sustainable, but Theresa's tips and tricks always make me want to do more - and I do. Mason bee guardian, canning more (and just bought a pressure canner), planting more heirloom stuff, baking bread and buying cookbooks that I actually use (I'm veg). The best books I've bought were first mess, vegan bible and batch. Also Bread Toast Crumbs. Excellent book!!!! So excited still that I have that in my repetoire. If you're veg, (not vegan), the books are all fab. The first mess is vegan, and I'm sure you can do the Bread Toast Crumbs one as well. Good luck, and keep listening! You will think not all episodes apply to you, but most do. I'm now a firm believer I cannot have chickens in my garden, but I also think I can do more potluck suppers at my home. I want to do spoon butter, but just have to find a supplier to do ot. I've also ordered a pressure canner!!!! Thanks Theresa! you have truely given me some impetus and inspiration for so many things that I never thought I would! MartinaRead full review »

So glad I found this podcast, and now your website. Sometimes these kind of podcasts can be too geologically specific for what I am hoping to find. This however reaches across the pond and has great advice for homegrowing principles and techniques which work in the UK where I am, as well as other...Read full review »
