Angela Beyer – Miss Universe's Journey to Self-Discovery
Listen now
Description
Struggling with an eating disorder, Angela Beyer hit rock bottom before finding her passion: helping others through personal training. Originally from Germany working in an unfulfilling career, Angela's disorder spiraled as she faced immense pressure. After recovering, Angela pursued her dream of living in America. She competed in bodybuilding, winning Miss Universe, but felt most fulfilled in preparation - not the win. This led Angela to personal training, where she discovered joy in others' successes. "Seeing people's happiness when making changes is so rewarding," Angela shared. Through one-on-one training and an online community, she continues empowering daily. Our conversation highlighted habits. Walt asked why some form habits easily while others struggle; Angela emphasized everyone differs in background and effort. Making small, automatic goals can help avoid willpower depletion evenings. As Walt noted, social media distracts from relationships but connecting intentionally with others on the platforms can start real bonds. Focusing on self-care and community may be key to lasting change. Ultimately, Angela found fulfillment through helping others on their health journeys, just as community helped her through her own challenges.
