The Red Sox closed out their road trip with a 2-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Sox went 2-5 on their road trip against the Yankees and Rays. Boston had an opportunity to return home 3.0 games behind both the Twins and Tigers for the 3rd AL Wild Card spot but are 4.0 back with 9 to go. The Red Sox were held to 1 hit and were also shutout for the 7th time this season.
