Right out of the gate the Shark were swarming the Red Wings, but thanks to Ville Husso Detroit escaped the 1st period scoreless. Then it looked liked the Red Wings figured it out when they got up 4-0 thanks to goals from Kostin, Rasmussen and Raymond in about a 5 minute stretch. But, nope, the problems this team had finally bit them as they blew that lead just as fast as they got it, literally. Too many odd man rushes, too many battles lost, and the inability of Ville Husso to make clutch saves had Detroit led to Detroit losing in OT 6-5. On the other hand, Kane had an impressive first game, he clearly has lost a step, but he was still very dangerous, hitting the post as well.
