The New York Yankees dropped a tough one in extra innings, 1-0, to the Mariners to finish the series taking two out of three in the Emerald City. It was a game full of good pitching and defensive gems. Clarke Schmidt had his sharpest outing of the season, and he’s done well in his last three starts. The Yankees offense, which had exploded for 30 runs in its previous three games, was shut down by George Kirby for eight innings and only had three hits the entire game. They loaded the bases in...

The New York Yankees take the second game in Seattle 10-2 behind an okay start from Nestor Cortes and an offensive explosion led by Isaiah Kiner-Falefa’s four RBI. Aaron Judge hit another home run (of course) and Anthony Volpe hit a three-run shot. Cortes was fine but he was pulled after five when his pitch count hit 101. We discuss his issues so far in 2023 and wonder if he can turn things around. And speaking of that. Can Oswaldo Cabrera turn things around? We do a deep dive into his...

The New York Yankees beat the Seattle Mariners, 10-4, on Monday night thanks to an offensive explosion led by Aaron Judge, Willie Calhoun, and Jake Bauers. Yep. Judge was doing Judge things, hitting two home runs, nearly hitting a third, and robbing Teoscar Hernandez of one late in the game. Jake Bauers had himself a good night hitting two doubles, and Harrison Bader hurt his hamstring, legging out a single in the third inning. He’s getting an MRI on Tuesday. Domingo German pitched okay in...

The New York Yankees dropped their series to the Baltimore Orioles with a 3-1 loss on Thursday night. The offense couldn’t get anything going against Kyle Gibson who went seven innings and only gave up two hits. Clarke Schmidt pitched okay and was hurt by his defense and some shoddy umpiring causing him to throw more pitches than necessary. Speaking of the umpiring, Aaron Boone has had enough of it and got ejected for the fourth time this season and for the second time in the past two weeks....

The New York Yankees blew a 5-1 lead, and a combo of Nestor Cortes, Jimmy Cordero, and Albert Abreu gave up eight runs in the top of the seventh inning to give Baltimore a 9-5 lead, and they’d go on to win the game, 9-6. Stacey and Steve discuss the meltdown inning and wonder how it could have gone so wrong so quickly. The game had some positives, like Gleyber Torres’s two home run performance and IKF’s home run and triple, but the game turned into a clunker thanks to the pitching...

The New York Yankees lost to the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-0 in 10 innings, thanks to a walk-off home run by Danny Jansen. The New York Yankees had an interesting weekend against the Tampa Bay Rays. Ultimately they would split the four-game set but there were a lot of things to be happy about and some things to be confused about. The Anthonys, Rizzo and Volpe had nice offensive performances, as did Aaron Judge. Wandy Peralta can be called upon to close two games in a row. Then you have Gerrit Cole grinding...
