This is best podcast ever! Robots does an excellent job making sense of The Silmarillion and now The Unfinished Tales. I love how robots possess questions for the listeners, and references to the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books showings the listeners the connections. This podcast is a...Read full review »

Robots is truly a master of the meaning behind Tolkien’s masterpieces and has studied not just a biased view Tolkien’s background but a truly well rounded view of every side of the story. This is extremely refreshing and I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone who wants to know the deeper...Read full review »

Just… fantastic! Thank you so much for your contributions to keeping and expanding and making accessible the Lore of Tolkien. And I LOVE that you are making slight mentions of the philosophical and theological underpinnings of the Lore. KEEP IT UP!

Fantastic podcast, this. Detailed breakdowns and in-depth narration of The Silmarillion. At times thoughtful, at others funny, and always informative. Maybe spend a little bit of time working on pronunciation of names, though!

I’ve been listening to a few of Robots’ lorecasts over the years and I think this is the one lorecast to rule them all. Tom’s laid-back, yet methodic approach to such a dense universe really makes it easy to consume. I’ve always been too intimidated to tackle the silmarillion or the unfinished...Read full review »

This show is a must for any fan of Tolkien’s works. I read the Silmarillion about 15 years ago with much struggle and very little appreciation. I had wanted to read it again but always remembered the difficultly I first encountered. Tom completely removes that barrier in his telling and...Read full review »

I always found the Silmarillion an intimidating book to read. Although I love Lord Of The Rings and the lore of Middle Earth, I limited myself to only reading The Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy as the other books were too complex. Robots had a natural talent of being able to tell the tale in simple...Read full review »

I got stuck on a 12 hour layover, and was in desperate need for something to listen to. What became a desperate pick for background noise is now something I actively listen to in my free time! Hi Tom, Ayen again. I just listened to your holiday episode and started to think of a game you could do a very cool lorecast for: Ghostrunner, the game is extremely fast-paced and all the lore is presented to you by monologue of other characters while you are just trying not to die. There are two...Read full review »
