So disappointing
After spending weeks in the area of Bocette Panama recently, my wife and I were hoping for a podcast that provided an unbiased review of the evidence and a probable explanation of what happened to the girls. This IS NOT it. The hosts, Atencio and Kryst have an openly biased agenda: this region is a hotbed of misogynists who abuse and murder women without repercussion. That may very well be the case, but that isn’t to say that’s what happened to these girls. As we listened we thought one of the first experts nailed it: in all probability they got lost, injured somehow and then died. I made a point to listen to the end, just so I could write a legitimate review. My wife lasted 3 episodes before she gave up. As we listened we did think of a great drinking game. Take a shot every time they say “possibly”, “maybe“, allegedly” etc. It also reminded us of Ancient Aliens, “I’m not saying it’s Feliciano, but…” All in, very disappointing. Save hours of your life and just read the wiki page.

They had their mind made up about these two women being murdered before investigating. It wasn’t to find the truth. It was to satisfy their egos and narratives. The murder theory is more interesting to them. Not realistic.

This is so well done. It’s a haunting tale but more than that it’s how Maria tells it. She includes details that really help set the scene & transport me from my backyard in the states to a tiny town in Panama. I’ll be looking for & listening to any other podcasts she does.

This podcast is too sensationalist and dishonest to take seriously It’s clear the narrator went into the case believing it was murder, so everything they talk about is trying to frame it as such. So many details that are easily explained get ignored so the narrator can say “but maybe it was...Read full review »
