I’ve been a bookseller for years, and owned a bookshop in Paris. With each episode of Lost Ladies I learn something new and fascinating. Their guests are always top notch. Thanks to them, my book knowledge and my collection are expanding.

Such a great podcast showcasing so many wonderful writers that have been unfairly lost in time. Only downside is that the to-be-read pile keeps getting bigger and bigger.

A bite-sized dollop of treasures I look forward to every week, Lost Ladies of Lit is my second favorite pastime next to reading, and the only podcast I listen to … and wait anxiously for … each week. Equal parts peeks into the writers’ lives (just the good bits) and their best books, with cool...Read full review »

I am so grateful for the work that the podcast The Lost Ladies of Lit is doing: broadcasting the work of female writers whose work has dropped through the cracks of the androcentric canon!

Amy Helmes and Kim Askew are crazy about books by women and don’t have a jot of pomposity between them. My TBR list has got much longer since I discovered their podcast.

This podcast is a gem! These women have literally found buried treasure: female authors, novels and stories that have been lost to the world and needed two spunky, curious females to help bring them back! I am not a fan of the zippy music at the beginning and end, but in between is a lively discussion of the book, the author, and the historical relevance of both. There is something very touching about these ”lost ladies” being found and given their due.

This sounded like a podcast that would be right up my alley, because the kinds of books they discuss are the kinds of books I tend to like, but after listening to a couple of episodes, I had to unsubscribe because the tone of the discussion is just too inane. Maybe it’s an age thing (I’m 70), but...Read full review »
