The audacity of dribble
Unfortunately the hosts of this podcast have really missed out on an opportunity to discuss the mastery of Lovecraft Country’s themes of racial injustice, sexuality, sexism and family dynamics in the Jim Era in Southern USA. Additionally, they ignore discussions on the references to literature, poetry, music and history and the many genres that constitute this show. This is a very boring, dull and uninteresting podcast that will only be of benefit if you want to go to sleep. I honestly cannot fathom the audacity of the hosts to produce such shallow and superficial dribble.

Go to the official HBO podcast for a real deep dive. These guys miss most of the nuance and fail to understand or analyze the significant role that racism plays in the story. This is not a show just about monsters.

It’s so nice to have an in-depth companion podcast to go along with a show. They make an effort to research source material and other context. They’re funny and engaging. And they have good a dialogue with their audience.
