“I used to love this podcast but I have felt increasingly uncomfortable by the ads that Julie chooses for this podcast. As a self-help podcast that is primarily listened to by women and non-binary folks, the space is one where vulnerable people are consistently targeted by corporations that play on our fears for profit and greed. It feels important to know that there are frequent ads for predatory companies such as better help and Noom. These companies are absolutely targeted at people who are looking for self help, and it feels unfortunate that Julie is uncritically working with these companies. Furthermore, I have felt the podcast episodes get longer and longer and it doesn’t feel as useful as the short form content that it previously was.”
