“This podcast was so great. I've can't stop talking about it! I grew up watching Oprah with my mom after school every day. She was an inspiration. I remember when she started the book club and I was like, that's so cool, Oprah likes books like I do. Till this day (I'm 33 now), "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts is one of my favorite books, and was an Oprah book club book. When my mom bought the book for me as an early Christmas present, I was ecstatic. One because I had the book of course, but also because at the time money was tight for my single mother, but somehow she got the money together to buy it for me because she saw how much it meant to me.
Her show really touched my life, and I'm convinced that her philanthropy on the show planted seeds in me that started me on the path to the nonprofit career I have today. This podcast brought back so many memories.. great memories! It was great to hear from the people who made the magic happen and what it was like to create some of the most memorable episodes. Love the podcast's host, and I could totally share her giddiness when she called her mom to tell her she landed the Oprah interview!
