I couldn’t get past the first few minutes because the background sound was so distracting. I’m also not a fan of the dramatic storytelling style so definite for me🙏🏼

Thank you, Ariel, you bring some tenderness into the stories you describe. It is hard to listen to what your protagonists experienced, but you make it possible, and a little hopeful. The first episode I listened to was the shocking “Syndrome”: I hope Iana’s daughter is going to grow up loved...Read full review »

Ariel is a fantastic storyteller and I absolutely love that she includes the psychology behind the story. She says “if you’re like me, you want to know why,” and she delivers.

I first started listening today. It was the 55th anniversary of the death of Sylvia Likens. That was a massive almost 2 hours. I have heard this story a few times in various podcasts. But - this was THE best; most engaging, most heart rending telling of this tragic story. Like a radio play. An...Read full review »

Malice is not your ordinary true crime podcast, it dives deep into the questions of why and what causes the perpetration of crimes. As an added big bonus, Ariel’s voice and narration wraps around you and brings you into whatever it is she’s discussing.

I am done. Unsubscribing. I can’t take the fake breathy cry talking anymore. Do you not read your reviews? Do you just not care? Nobody likes it! It’s cringe!
Uberchicpolish via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/26/21
If you’re reading a word for word story a victim went through, please don’t do any voice acting. Just quote them. Stop the fake crying and the voice trembling. It’s embarrassing and cringy.

Please stop with the trembling soft voice acting. It’s so cringe.

Eh
I heard about this podcast from another one I follow. I just started and I can’t take it. Why does the host sound like a phone sex operator talking about murder?

Ariel does thorough research (no reading straight from a wikipedia page, here!) She treats the victims with the dignity they deserve - while also understanding the importance of victimology. I do not miss an episode, and neither should you!

Malice is the best of the best! Ariel’s descriptive storytelling brings you into the story in a way other podcasts don’t. I also love the afterthoughts and the guests and how it takes you a little deeper with the story, and often with new perspectives. So, so good!

Ariel is truly one of the nicest people out there! She is not only a great listen but also an amazing follow on Twitter! I can’t help but, be drawn into the stories of some of these tragic events! Normally I shy away from murder, but Ariel brings it to life with a focus on the victim. She gives no glory to the murderers out there and instead gives you a celebration of the life lived by the victim. True crime without the killer worship of so many other pods (fun for those who like it, but...Read full review »

I was in a conversation about how so many podcasts use the same format. My response was mockingly that music is also plagued by so many genres. If a show is good, I’ll listen to a topic I’ve heard from other podcast artists because the show is good. The logic is cyclical, and it holds. Malice is...Read full review »
