Respect for women
I very much enjoy this podcast. But during this episode, when you referred to Zora Neal Hurston, you referred to her consistently as “Zora” while referring to every male author by their last names. Subtle disrespect, unconsciously spoken, and demeaning to an author you supposedly respect. I believe as hosts in the spirit of the podcast, you should bring more awareness of how you refer to female writers.

More reviews of Marlon and Jake Read Dead People
This is THE podcast for lovers of literature. Marlon and Jake hit the sweet spot between academic and accessible. They offer fascinating insights into not only books but the people who wrote them. Their banter is witty and funny, and you just wish you could fix yourself a cocktail and join them.

One episode in and I’m hooked. And thank you, yes, Steinbeck was 100% a better writer than Hemingway.

I had high hopes for this podcast. A disappointment. Suggest Marlon and Drake (and everyone else) listen to Backlisted for a great podcast on literature.
