Description
Todays guest is a Cannabis activist and an amazing mother. One of her kids Murray is 8 years old and suffers with a rae type of Epilepsy knows as Doose Syndrome. Karen has long fought for access to Cannabis medcine for Murray and even had to become an international drug smuggler as part of the battle. As before she had the private prescription she was having to travel to Holland and illegally smuggle a legally purchased medicine home to help keep her child alive. Murray is now 2 years seizure free thanks to his cannabis medicine and is no longer needing aides such as a protective helmet or wheel chair.  More recently Dean Gray , Murray’s 13 year old brother hand delivered a letter to the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon  asking for the cost of Murrays medicine to be covered by the NHS so the family no longer have to fundraise the £1300/month bill for Murray’s medicine. Cannabis prohibition which has made research incredibly difficult over the last 70 years and is why so many patients now are without effective access. I hope after hearing this more people will stand up and call for an end to Cannabis prohibition which causes so much hardship in our society.  Thanks again to Karen Gray for joining me and I hope everyone else enjoys the conversation and gets motivated by it. Cannabis prohibition has got to go!!
