Absolutely amazing 👌🏻

Steph’s interviews with Dan Mitchell alone are worth the five stars. ( what’s amazing is that she got the normally attention shy Mitchell to talk at all). She hits all the things the normal paranormal shows gloss over. Always good stuff.

Seems to be some negative reviews and I’m not sure why. The host has an English accent - so what? The presentation is understated - that’s an English thing too. The job of an interviewer is not to be the star of the show. If you don’t like it then listen to any of the plethora of pods which cover...Read full review »

Well worth a listen, quite unique. Covers some well known cases and some you probably won’t know about. Steph talking to Paul Sinclair for two hours was amazing, I could listen to that all day.

The cadence doesn’t fit. You’ve got a lovely voice. I’ve never heard anyone edit in between sentences. Pls get this sorted as your stories are great but I cannot listen when I would have been a avid listener to this. Shame!

I love how these mediums were so down to earth - like the one who drank whiskey when he was working and smoked like a chimney haha yet he was able to perform what seem like miracles when the spirits were working with him. Wish I could have met him!! I always thought spiritualists were fluffy old...Read full review »

I saw a spirit one night in my bedroom. I didn’t understand it at the time and it was very unsettling until I met a medium at a spiritualist church who helped me understand it and now I go and watch mediums at the spiritualist churches all the time and it’s spooky how they are always so accurate....Read full review »

I was excited to see you had a podcast as well! I have read literally almost all your books. I am currently reading Monsters and have to say it is a page turner!

I’m so glad to find This show on podcast! I’ve listened to every episode and love each and every one. It is fascinating, enlightening, and easy to listen.

Very hard to listen to in the car. Many comments are accurate about the unintelligible nature of the Audio.

Her voice is unbearable. Perhaps another narrator will be able to save the podcast.
dragontriping via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/16/23
She can’t. Seem. To finish. A sentence. Without breaking. It into. Tiny. Pieces.
El Baldo Grande via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/17/23
The narration sounds like a snake learned to speak English, but only a few words, so, it keeps repeating those over and over and over, recording secretly in the middle of the night from down in a basement.

Don’t listen to the haters. Her voice is awesome.

I could listen to this for hours. A combination of mystery, spiritualism and some really out there stuff. Right up my street ;)
jim303 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/26/23
The pattern of speaking is bizarre and unbearable to listen to. Another “mystery” podcast has the same thing. Sounds like AI is being used to clone the voice and read something pre-typed. The only explanation I have for it, otherwise it’s a mystery…

Good mix of stories, delivered in a sensible, soothing voice - and , crucially, not ruined by being continuously punctuated by inane giggling or swearing as is the case with some other podcasts on a similar subject. Classy.
Makeasif via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/26/23
I notice some people take issue with the host’s accent, even saying it’s put on. It isn’t,she’s English and that really is how she speaks. Sometimes the sound quality isn’t that great it must be said, but the content is good enough for me not to worry about it. Each to their own etc etc

Sorry - but this show is boring, very boring

I’m sorry I couldn’t follow the story as I was laughing so hard, accents are beautiful to some and just plain funny to others! I’m going to switch off now hahahaha

I think the content of this podcast is interesting and well researched, however, the intonation of the narrator is very grating. Her voice itself doesn't bother me, like some people are complaining about, but more the inflection of the voice. The voice lilts upward at the ends of many...Read full review »

I was thrilled to see a podcast that covered stories like this but after many tries to listen to these stories I simply couldn’t continue due to the narrator’s voice along with the way in which the story is described. I find myself not being to understand the basic timeline or alleged...Read full review »

Very hard to follow the narration is poor sentence structure not followed a bit like hearing a 9 year old read when they don’t understand punctuation.

Jumps around from disjointed thought to disjointed thought without much of a smooth segue between. Word salad.

Pleasant narration and the stories are just a good length and a decent mix up of past and present tales

Great accent and stories, although it does sound as though the narrators voice is being continuously edited.

Steph is an amazing researcher and incredible storyteller, she looks into many fascinating stories rumours and theories that are shockingly overlooked. Listening to this episode pushed me to listen to the other ones. The author took her time to explain, and said the story with passion. Too quiet and soft to hear the stories properly. Sounds childlike and a bit muffled.
Blackittykitty via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 11/08/21
I’ve tried several episodes and I can’t get over the sound quality. It’s not the voice. It’s the sound quality. It’s like underwater inside a bathroom with an echo added digitally or something. I can’t.
Mermaidem via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/19/21
Delightful podcast. Includes so many stories not discussed elsewhere. Young’s voice reminds me of the wonderful British actress Hayley Mills.

Specially regarding the latest episode, I find the hypotheses to be poorly researched. For example, dilated pupils are suggested to be the result of drug use. An intriguing and well developed podcast that is one of the few I listen to regularly. The topics are interesting and the “otherworldlyness” of them is sometimes a nice respite from our current reality.

I love the content, but her voice sounds likes it goes through a voice changer.
Sarah67act via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 05/05/21
The narration renders these great stories redundant. Unable to listen to her pattern of speech and awkward style and I am English. Sounds like Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter.
