Flat
Four women who all sound alike and, more often than not, think alike on everything but the most mundane of subjects, keeps this podcast from doing anything interesting. Here, I’ll spoil all current and future episodes for you: Does the book feature a strong female lead? It’s awesome. Does it dare to appeal to primarily men? It’s stupid. Is it new-agey or self-help? It’s awesome. Does it view religion, especially Christianity, in a positive light? It’s stupid. Does it promote modern views on sexuality and culture? It’s awesome. Does it dare to not be in line with current social sensibilities, even if it’s more than two years old? Burn it. So if that sounds like a romping good time to you, you’ve found your podcast. Personally I think they seem dead set on turning around all the progress made against the stereotype “women can’t be funny.”

Your podcast is about books - it’s a great idea if you actually read them. It’s so annoying to listen over and over to people who...Read full review »
