MBP 02: Meditation can Change Genes As Well
Listen now
Description
Meditation can Change Genes As Well After an essential research conducted in the Massachusetts Hospitals, the geneticists are saying, 'An unwanted growth or reaction takes place in the human genes due to constant stress. And meditation and relaxation can successfully compensate for that along with releasing your mind and body from stress.' The scientists have named this psychosomatic change "Relaxation Response". According to the scientist, this is the first comprehensive study of how the mind can effect gene expression, with the coordination of various aspects. That shows, people who received relaxation training and practiced a healthy lifestyle are less likely to get high blood pressure. And those taking blood pressure medication, already, are more likely to eliminate the medication requirement. Research suggests, relaxation has such effect on the body that people who practice meditation and are able to free their body of tension can switch to the protective effect of genes and fight free radicals and inflammation. Therefore, scientists are now looking at whether the mind state helps protect against cancer, as well.
