I came late to this podcast series but I really like the concept and the casual style. Really does feel like walking around the museum with a well informed friend.

If you love museums, interesting people talking about interesting and sometimes unlikely things, and good chats, this podcast is for you. A fab way to learn more about the world and add museums to your “to visit” list.

Even though I knew this podcast existed it took until the third lockdown to actually listen, but then I listened to every one almost back-to-back! With such a diverse range of presenters and museums or galleries visited there is something for everyone. Most of the presenters were very respectful...Read full review »

This podcast is based on a simple but inspired idea. Each episode is worth listening to. The mix of guest presenters in a different museum each time produces magic. Well done to whoever thought it up. The variety works well: some museums lend themselves to a more serious approach by virtue of...Read full review »

I loved this particular episode with Jessie Burton and her mother, Linda. They were very good company and it was a personal and thorough exploration of a fascinating house and garden. The tour guides were outstanding.

The Great Bed of Ware was the first of this podcast I listened to, and it really made me smile!

Series 4, ep. 3 - fab episode. Katie is a skilled interviewer as well as being a highly knowledgeable art historian. Listening to the rain at Hepworth’s studio is so evocative. A magical little listen about my favourite topic — women artists.

This is a marvellous museum which I visited after Christmas. I was hoping for a serious description of the artworks there. I was very disappointed. It tells you very little about them. It’s chatty & silly and more about the presenters than anything. “She was a kickarse woman”: the quality of...Read full review »

What a joy! Tapping in to what we are all missing- getting out and about to learn and appreciate with best chums. Felt wrapped up in your warm company, more please.

I love this podcast, especially the first series. Really informative and interesting listen. The only downside is there has been some really dull museums in the second series - if museums are to survive they need to move with the times!

Absolutely love this. Binge listening while baking. Really well made, interesting and engaging. Yay!

This is so heart warming, I’m going to have to listen again...and again, probably. Mainly because of the uplifting mother and son relationship; how open, warm, funny and accepting they both are with each other. And the museum sounds interesting too...

Just been listening to Lemn Sissay on the Foundling Museum. An excellent and entertaining introduction to a very important place.

Really insightful and irreverent take on museum going.

What a missed opportunity. Instead of an entertaining introduction to museums and exhibitions you might want to see all you get is forced humour, silly conversation and a totally shallow approach. Surely the Art Fund can do better?
