In this beautiful movie about the end of the world, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and brother-in-law John (Kiefer Sutherland). Great Work!
Moving sound and images. And great story telling. An example of art in cinema and dipiction of the human condition with relationship to the planet and universe we live in. The entire cast was well selected and the design was very original. I agree Kubrick might have liked it. ...Read full review »

who said he was a Nazi - regardless of that , first hour dead boring - pretty to look at but snoresville - let's see, movie about the end of the world, called melancholy and everybody dies - that about sums it up

The movie is sheer genius. Topped only by Midnight in Paris. Those who feel the time was wasted…need simpler movies. This was worth the time and effort. JG
