Content is good, host becomes increasingly annoying!
Initially I'd have rated this 4.5 (if i could give 1/2 stars) but the host became so annoying for me I now rate it 3 (3.5 if I could). The structure of the podcast, with several short info type sections, a main interview with a hiker and the bonus of essentially an audio book over several episodes is good. The host however has several annoying habits. Rather than simply ask a question he poses a question then provides three or four alternatives that might be the answer. Just ask the question and shut up. He also constantly interupts the interviwee. I got tired of his constant reminder that he's hiked the trail twice and he was 62 the first time. He also comes across as condesending. He got so annoying i'm currently on a break from listening to the podcast - I'll probably go back to it at some stage, because the good outweighs the bad, but not just yet.Read full review »

I discovered this podcast after reading Steve's first book. What a treat! I listen while I train for our AT section hikes. Steve is a natural and does something rarely heard from interviewers with much more experience. He let's his guests speak! Very entertaining!Read full review »

I have learned a great deal from this podcast and I have literally changed many of my hiking habits...Read full review »
