In honor of Child Life Month in  this episode we hear from Child Life Specialist, Lisa Ciarroca.  She explains how a child life specialist works with children, adolesents, and families.  We discuss how enxiety and grief may present themselves in our children and how to offer them support.  We also discuss the impact of the pandemic and how we can best move forward to provide hope and healing for children and families.   Lisa A. Ciarrocca, CCLS, RWWP is a Certified Child Life Specialist, Registered Wonders & Worries Provider and a Certified Grief Facilitator. In addition, she is a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. Lisa has over 30 years experience working with children, adolescents, families and professionals in, and out of, the healthcare system setting. She has been responsible for the development and leadership of a system wide Child Life program that served children and families. She serves as a member of the professional advisory board on local foundations in New Jersey that serve children and families which focus on pediatric palliative care and grief support. 6 years ago Lisa expanded her child life role into the community and has opened her own child life private practice,The Next Step Partners in Psychosocial Care LLC located in Fanwood, NJ. https://www.thenextstepnj.com/
