Informative and Reassuring
I've been listening to Minority Korner for about a year now (when I started listening to 8000000000 Maximum Fun podcast all at once). I am finally reviewing them in light of their recent call for 100 reviews for their 100th episode!!! The combination of news, history, listicles, and advice/recommendations is not something I've ever seen in any other podcast, and it works so well. I am a white queer girl and I think that the history and information on both the communities that I belong to and those that I am not a part of are both so important. Minority Korner expands my view of the world. It is also such a reassuring podcast, even when they are talking about absolutely horrible things. I'm not really sure why. But I'm pretty sure that Minority Korner actually helps me deal with my anxiety. Nnekay and James are both so delightful. James is wildly quotable ("You're only as whatever as your latest thing") and Nnekay has one of the nicest voices in podcasting; I could listen to her talk for hours. Honestly, whoever said these two were annoying?? (I'd love it if they'd edit their episode descriptions, though. They are not infrequently a bit rough.) Nnekay and James, I hope you reach your goal of 100 reviews by the 100th episode! And I look forward to another 100, 200, 300 or more episodes of Minority (or Majority, if you decide to go ahead with Dolores Huerta's suggestion) Korner's wonderful history, efficient listicles, and reassuring words to get us through bad times, whether they be global or personal, and encourage us in good times, also of whatever scale. Wonder Twins of Podcasting, keep on fighting and keep on celebrating!Read full review »

Listen to this goofy pair talk about pop culture and politics while giggling, mispronouncing stuff, and just having the best time.

The last couple episodes have really killed it, the one released on may 11th especially. James and Nneke (spelling? sorry) are hilarious and have a strong message of love and acceptance while also being able to side eye your faves. Also that one girl fight scene in infinity war was garbage and...Read full review »
