Authentic, interesting, and positive
Minority Korner is (fun!) required listening for anyone who wants to learn more about minority issues and empowerment. The podcast covers everything from pop culture to history to current events and consistently leaves me with new way of understanding an issue than I had before. Sometimes topics feel a bit under researched, but I still value hearing about them from the viewpoint of someone other than a white dude for a change. I really appreciate this accessible and entertaining way to educate myself a bit more, and I feel like it makes me a better friend, teacher, and human to hear more honest and diverse perspectives on serious topics that I might not be exposed to otherwise. There is some "self-help" pseudoscience can be a bit over the top (a pet peeve of mine as a social scientist), but I appreciate the authenticity, honesty, and desire to keep improving that Nnekay and James bring to the podcast. Overall a great podcast to bring more diversity of thought to my otherwise NPR heavy playlist.Read full review »
