Loved hearing from friends and family!

I listen to a lot of podcast and look for actual research, but this one had actual research. Just exploited it from family members and then lied on the podcast.

This podcast does a great job presenting the case from an outsider perspective. The reporting is well researched and in depth. Definitely worth a listen.

exploiting a family gross.

Podcast was initially good and well put together. However, the rant on gun control is pitiful. Why?!?! Keep your personal ideals out of the podcast.

You should be ashamed of taking someone else pain for your on gain! Shame on you! Justice for Alyssa and Sarah!

you’re really unkind to harass the family member of a mutter victim for money. that really is awful. i hope you find the inner peace you so desperately need 😞

Please do your research , this woman is a terrible person. Exploiting a family for her own gain. Gross

Podcast was great and well put together and nicely narrated. However, didn’t care for the lecture on the supposed, gun show loopholes. Why can’t a good podcast just say that, a good podcast? Add the political, and you’ll lose my recommendation to anyone else. Oh well.

Exploits Alyssa story. Over shadows the work her sister does. Makes true crime fans look bad.

Exploitation of victim and victim’s family
Blinkyfrog7 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/20/23
I encourage you all do you your research in how poorly the creator of this podcast, Ottavia Zappala, has treated the victim of this series, Alissa Turney’s sister, Alissa. She has completely exploited this case and Sarah Turney.

I couldn’t get through an episode. The hosts voice has an incredibly grating whine and unnatural accent to it and it’s painfully obvious she’s reading off of a script like it’s a middle school English class, linstead of being personable and actually caring about the subject. Can’t and won’t finish.
Kuragehimi via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/20/23
Octavio is truly a morale-less person. She is exploitative and has used this poor girls story as a way to get notoriety for herself, while also standing in the way of investigation. Keeping files from the family over personal beef? Proof mean girls grow up and stay mean girls who put their noses...Read full review »

I think Ottavia did an amazing job with this story. I wish she would give us more stories.

Such a fabulous podcast. It is worth the listen. A few times. Thank you so much for your professionalism. #truecrime

I just CAN’T with this podcaster. She mispronounces every 5th word. Basic, easy words. It’s absolutely maddening. SO hard to listen to.

You really do not need to continue this podcast

Love this podcast and I hope the host will do more. The content itself was great it terms of how the story was told. She also has a great speaking voice so it makes the podcast more enjoyable. There are a few podcasts I could not finish because I couldn’t listen to the voice any longer or the...Read full review »

Yeah no I gave up on your podcast the music is irritating to no end.
Bossbabe2121 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/30/23
If you’re going to talk about something as sensitive as this, the family should always be involved. If the family doesn’t want be involved, the. You shouldn’t make the content. Lining your pockets from the pain of others is despicable.
Saella96 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/01/23
Ottavia tells Alyssa’s heartbreaking story professionally and passionately. The music is a nice touch the whole way through, keeps you interested and wanting to listen!! Thank you!!

You’ve done a great job of taking us through the case. Fantastic reasearch too. I feel like I’m sitting room with you. Added bonus, you have a voice that’s pleasant to listen too. I’ve not listened to podcasts if the voice was off putting to me or if you can tell they are reading a...Read full review »

And assumptions. So much assumptions and nothing, absolutely nothing resolved. Corps pickers.

Great job Ottavaia, really well researched and presented. It’s clear that you genuinely care about Alissa and getting a better outcome for her and her family. I also thoroughly enjoyed your Labyrinth podcast on Casefile. Keep up the good work.

I couldn’t help but be so moves by this podcast. A focus on true testimony, the facts and sad torturous life of Alisa. No one deserves this - cannot believe the person responsible is still at large 😡

I’m invested in the outcome of this case and truly hoping that Alyssa is found & that he faces Justice. The way he refuses accountability for everything is incredibly frustrating.

Great approach with all the necessary qualities to an investigatory podcast and all without unnecessarily long conversations/unintelligible interviews. Loved It so much…

I didn’t love the back ground music but I follow Sara T and her sister’s case. It was nice to hear you do this pod cast from an outsiders perspective!

I’m sure this podcaster was committed, but their inexperience is what really comes through. Great information and detail but really badly arranged, organised and very poor interview technique.

stephann82 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 05/12/21
Yes that nut job was arrested in 2020 for Alissa’s murder. This podcast was a nice add-on to Sarah’s Voices For Justice. What’s upsetting for me as a parent is all the people who knew, saw, heard about the abuse of Alissa and didn’t do anything.
MICHE Queen via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/28/21
Solid information. Your information on the “gun show loophole” is pretty misleading though. You cannot buy a gun online and avoid a background check. If you’ve ever been to a gun show, all sellers run background checks. Your issue is with private sale of guns from a person to person which is...Read full review »

This podcast was riveting. I feel devastated for this young girl, who was most likely verbally and sexually abused and later murdered by her narcissistic step-father. My heart wept for her. I hope she is in peace now with her Mother.
vcarol123 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/14/21
And very well done. Interviews with family, friends, police, attorneys, and info from listeners all combine to give a good look at the case of Alissa Turney’s disappearance. Just don’t look for the Facebook page, as it no longer exists.
LeoFlash via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/30/20
Michael was charged for this crime 4 months ago! I’m very surprised we haven’t had any kind of update.
Jmanis via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/17/20
I will start off by saying that I prefer narrative-style true crime podcasts to those with interviews, and this one is not that. This isn't a bad podcast, but something about the narration and interviews did not pull me in the way other podcasts have done. The topic is definitely interesting...Read full review »

I Initially gave this podcast a poor review & 1 Star after listening to only 3 episodes & I now realize that I spoke to soon. Am I the only one who saw the subjective reporting here? In the bonus episode #5 Confrontation, the host says that Michael was going around in circles, but that's not how I heard it. He sounded really frustrated and was quite forthcoming about his own mental health issues. I don't know...Read full review »

I just now stumbled on this podcast and devoured it in less than a week! The host does a really great job telling the circumstances surrounding Alissa’s disappearance with empathy and compassion. I really loved that she followed up with critical people in the inner circle after the podcast...Read full review »

Interesting, but so many grammatical errors it’s distracting. Repetitive. I prefer podcasts with longer episodes.

The podcast would really benefit from less distracting background music. Important story to tell.
Tea787 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/19/20
Brilliant podcast. Very professionally done but still had feeling. The only thing, the Music? Oh my god, the musics drove me crazy! It’s way too loud and so distracting! Very enjoyable, apart from that! 😊
KazzaWohl via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 08/13/20
Interesting podcast. Decided to listen to it all in one sitting. The background music is odd...but doesn’t take away from the content.

On the bonus episodes now. Touching.

I wish a trauma sensitive expert in domestic violence covered this story. The ignorance and insensitivity of some of the questions asked to some of the survivors was disappointing, in particular the shooting survivor.

Music is distracting!!! I really tried to listen to your podcast !!! I couldn’t make it past episode one
