Happily surprised by how GOOD this is!
I am always looking for a quality serialized podcast. I come across so many that sound good subject-wise, but when I start to listen I can’t tolerate the host’s voice, or there are 2 hosts and they talk to each other too much, or I just plain don’t like the personality of the host. If I can’t stand listening to the host(s) I don’t care how fascinating the story is I have to turn it off. I recently did a google search for good serialized podcasts and stumbled across a recommendation for Missing Alissa I thought I’d give it a try while performing the multi-hour task of cleaning out a very big and cluttered closet. So glad I did! Octavia, the host of Missing Alissa, is not at all irritating voice- or otherwise and seems like a very nice person. Plus the way she pronounce her own name is pretty rad ;). In addition to having a likable host, Missing Alissa is a eminently listenable because of the fascinating story, which is told in a very organized, intelligent way. 5 stars from me for Missing Alissa and am excited to listen to another one of Octavia’s podcasts that is hopefully as good.

Just drop every true crime podcast you are listening to, and download this one. Seriously good on so many levels, production and scripting at its best. As I wrote on a true crime FB board - it is chilling, dark, disturbing, and I am strangely drawn into its web anyway!

I can’t say enough how much this podcast grabbed me and held on. Highly recommend listening, I won’t forget about her any time soon and if none of us do maybe the truth can be uncovered although I think it’s clear, maybe she can be found maybe somehow she can receive the justice she deserves

Octavia does a great job with research and telling the story of Alissa.
