Stretched out way too much
This story has a gripping theme and one that is likely to capture the imagination, but that’s where it ends. Throughout the Pod, I was waiting for it to really get going. I felt that at some point we were going to have a ‘wow’ moment but sadly this never came, nor did it come close. Instead, I was left frustrated by areas of the investigation or specific questions that weren’t mentioned so the listener isn’t aware if these areas were even investigated. I feel more information could have been given about her brother and possible alibis, honour killings and also her husband. We were left knowing a little but nowhere near enough about a story that ‘appears’ to be partly investigated/reported.

While this is a fascinating story, it is delivered with a lot of repetition. I find myself thinking “I’ve already heard this... several times...” It seems slower than it needs to be. Not sure I’d recommend it.

I drive a lot so I’ll probably finish it (halfway through), but so far I’m still waiting for it to pick up. The trailer had me expecting a Serial or Bear Brook, but it’s basically just a long story your grandpa tells every year over family dinner about a strange thing that happened.
