“I have never had a weight problem but I do suffer with addiction (heroin). To know addiction then it matters very little what the substance may be. Addiction is a life altering affliction that I wish apon nobody, ever. 20 yes I have struggled, 20 long years. I have always known of Mr. Simmons and have seen and or heard him many times over the years. That being said I always found myself feeling sorry for Richard. He seemed to be the "butt" of many peoples joke. After listening to this pod cast in it's entirety I have definitely changedy way of thinking. I don't feel sorry for Richard, I envy Richard. To go through life's day to days knowingany people made fun and to act oblivious to it... Wow the pain he must have endured all them years. A normal person would have broke in the beginning. A normal person would have changed, evolved into what it took to become one with there fellow humans. What is normal? Normal is what each individual perceives it to be. . society has decided what our normal should be. Richard lived outside the lines. Hell Richard made his own lines. What an amazing life heade for himself. I'm positive that no other person past present and future will be as unconditional, caring, loving, selfless and all around amazing as Richard Simmons was,is and always will be. My opinion on why he is in for lack of a better word hiding is he got tired and had nothing more he could give of himself and that is 10 percent ok with me. Wonderful informative pod cast.
