“With so many newcomers to the market, you never know quite how much to expect of the latest comedy podcast but Mockbusters doesn’t disappoint.
Excellently structured, the show already feels like an old favourite and certainly a good way to spend your commute. Mockbusters is a weekly effort to put together a semi-cogent movie narrative from randomly generated (and ridiculous) titles and Genres.
The hosts, Matt & Jack have cultivated a very clever formula that capitalises on their wit and vocal ability (both are working voice-actors) the network of entertainers around them and their genuine friendship and camaraderie. The show is extremely silly, one episode centres around a hypothetical film where all cast members are played by Sean Bean - including the little girl, quite the coup for such a new show to have such a sterling guest.
