Breakfast Persian Twist
Bita and Bita Jan Wow, to your amazing podcast, I’ve only listened to one and I am totally hooked. Like the two of you I am constantly battling between my beautiful Persian cultural heritage and the North American culture I’m currently living in… honestly honestly, it’s quite a challenge for the brain as we all try to simplify things and move on with our days as smoothly as possible. Sometimes cooking or thinking about the ingredients for Persian meal get sidelined.. For that reason, I usually end up taking the ingredients that I love and grew up with … exactly like you describe here ,….such as saffron and pistachios and jams and zereshk and feta cheese, playing with them into cookies or pastries etc… These items satisfy vital, basic longing, deep inside my core, which is very ancestral as you also mentioned. However, when I have my 88 year old father taste some of these things, he simply laughs at me and doesn’t like even tasting them 😂😅🤣 I think for the older generation the presentation is key as well and I do try my best to make them look attractive to 🥹🥹. Anyways, a big shout out to both of you for putting the time and energy to create such a podcast. I will be listening, listening to all of your episodes from now on. As well, I will be spreading them out to all my friends.🙌👏🙌👏🙌👏❤️
