A must listen for the true crime junkie's archive
I avoided this true-crime podcast for a long time because I thought it would be really political for some reason? I’m not sure but I’m glad I gave it a listen because it is basically a serial killer case along the lines of iHeartRadio and TenderfootTV’s other podcasts in the Monster series: Monster: The Zodiac Killer and Atlanta Monster. The solo host for this show is actually Tony Harris, not Payne Lindsey who hosts the other pods in the Monster series. His voice is a bit deeper and more echos of a news reporter. Every other aspect parallels its sister shows in terms of production quality and suspense. It is unique in the way that everything from the actual crime that is committed to the profile of the killer isn’t what you expect. The 15 part series has two bonus episodes giving more insight into what fueled the attacks as well as the lasting effects. Each episode is about 40 minutes long and the show finished up in May of 2020 so it’s ready for binging. With over 13 hours of content, the pod could easily cover an eight-hour shift and then some. It comes highly recommended as well not just from me but from all of its listeners with 80% of the 4,864 ratings being a perfect 5 star. Overall it was an average star of 4 and a half with 291 written reviews. The script is well produced with interviews of victims, family members, and experts making up the majority of it. Music is fitting and ominous. Major trigger warnings for mass shootings, terrorist type attacks, and also domestic abuse. This podcast is very interesting however it’s incredibly drawn out and padded in some areas.
