James’s podcast gives very interesting and detailed overviews of various monsters, but the real gem is the ideas he presents on how to use these monsters in adventures or even whole campaign arcs. You won’t be disappointed!

It’s always a happy day when a new Monster Man episode pops up. A short, cheery snippet of monstery goodness with some historical/ethnographic/ecological background and good scenario ideas. Good fun.

I was looking for a podcast episode for Bullywugs and Firenewts and found this podcast. This is an amazing podcast. I don’t understand why I haven’t found it before because it’s great. I’m a little confused why there aren’t any reviews or ratings? I love this podcast. I didn’t find an episode on...Read full review »

Going first through D&D’s 1st edition monster manual, and then the fiend folio, this podcast talks about Interesting Stuff in an entertaining and engaging way. Even if you don’t like D&D, but like...Read full review »

James Holloway does a great job here. This is something I did not expect to enjoy but now find it is one of my favourite podcasts. Although so far focused on AD&D 1st edition products this is not an AD&D podcast as such. It examines the Monster Manual, and lately the Fiend Folio, as important...Read full review »

If you like D&D, you should definitely listen to this podcast. Heck, you might even like this if you just want to hear some fun and interesting stuff about monsters. James shares the “history, mythology, and ecology” of every monster in the original AD&D Monster Manual, in short, fast-paced...Read full review »

A gaming podcast should be about the game. Though this podcast is alphabetically covering the monsters in the 1977 AD&D Monster Manual, it has minimal game-related content. The podcaster seems like a nice enough guy, but even after listening to dozens of episodes, I can't tell if he has...Read full review »

The only complaint I have is that I wish the episodes were longer.

If the phrase “first edition monster manual” is something you recognize, you’ll find this interesting
