Hypermobility
Listen now
Description
Many of us strive for better mobility in our movement. But can we have too much?... and what does that look like? Today we talk with Dr. Jenna Gourlay on the subject of hypermobility. Some are born with it, some acquire it over time. Regardless, it can cause a higher risk of injuries, but can also give a competitive advantage. We discuss how to identify hypermobility, the risks involved with hypermobile individuals, and how to train them. We cover the phenomenon in volleyball players, gymnasts, golfers, NFL players, the elderly, Michael Phelps & Tiger Woods. We close with how hypermobility may affect postpartum workouts as well. This show has a lot of range, so sit back, relax, and let’s get going with today’s episode of the Movement Podcast -- powered by FMS.
