Fun back and forth banter
These two have fun bantering back and forth about the movies. It's like listening to your friends in the back seat of your car as you drive home from a double date at the movies. This is not heavy Pauline Kael-level criticism. Go read her books for that. It's lighter, more fun. Should you use Movie Date to decide whether or not to go see something? Yes and no. If they intrigue you about some movie, go. If they both dislike it, chances are it's a pass. Either way, it's a fun journey. And I like that they rate movies as "good date," "bad date," "great date," etc. rather than four stars or something. One note about iTunes: try putting "movie reviews" in your description above. Your podcast does not come up when I try that, or if it does, it's so low below all the other podcasts on this topic that no one will ever find you. I went looking for you, since I already subscribe. Keep up the fun work, guys!Read full review »

More reviews of The Takeaway: Movie Date
The hosts' love and knowledge of movies and their quick wits and obvious enjoyment of themselves and each other make hearing about even the worst movie nicely amusing. Great job! I never miss it.Read full review »

I love this show mostly because the more you got to know their tastes the more they surprise you. They’re funny and they have great chemistry. And more importantly I’ve come to trust their reviews.
