I enjoyed this podcast very much. I did find it easier to identify the different people and circumstances better by having read Jillian Lauren’s book first.

So well put together and so incredibly interesting

Not sure why I’m late to this - but this is an incredible podcast. Amazing to have a journalist turned very successful author put a podcast together, along with his contacts he’s worked with in law enforcement for decades.

I was interested in this show but in listening to the first episode I just couldn’t follow the podcast, with there an interruption every few minutes to plug a sponsor. I know podcasts need to make money but when you have more adverts than there is content then it doesn’t work. There needs to be...Read full review »

As good as you would expect from Michael Connelly. It’s so exciting to find more content from one of my favorite authors ever!

It’ll make a great documentary if it’s also filmed.

I love this podcast (both seasons). When will season 3 drop?!

Painfully slow pace, overly repetitive, too many endless voice clips of detectives or others saying “uh, um, you know” and not getting to the point or even the end of a sentence. Frankly, a bore. These things are not true of Connelly books, but this podcast has become as dull as dishwater.

I was introduced to Bosch the TV show by a co worker loved it. I was on a discount flight back from the UK to US for a beloved family member’s funeral. Was in a tiny airport that had a Bosch novel. I have since read all of MC’s books, and now love this podcast. Can’t thank MC for all of his...Read full review »

After listening to Season 1….great true crime podcast. Well organized, intelligently put together and such a honorable way to tell the story of justice for the victim and his family & loved ones. From books, to TV to podcasts, Michael Connelly does not disappoint!!!!

The production side is very well done from the music, the live interviews and the narration by Mr. Connelly. Recaps of the previous episode at the beginning of a new episode should probably be the rule as sometimes one may go awhile between listening. As per usual, this classic Connelly.

Bringing the books to life, and I’m loving hearing from the actual detectives - Sandra, SA.

Patrick Picciarelli, who wrote The Hollywood Godfather with Gianni Russo, suggested Bosch during an episode of his podcast, The Hollywood Godfather. I binge watched Bosch day and night until I got through all six seasons. I’m so excited when I ran across this podcast this morning. I loved Bosch...Read full review »

Big fan of Michael Connelly as an author - not so much as a podcast narrator. After trying to listen to “The Telltale Bullet,” I had to bail because of the poor sound quality of the courtroom recordings and his narration style. The good news is that I will continue to read his novels but not...Read full review »

I enjoy your books and “Murder Book Seasons 1 and Two.” Both very good and 1st episode I was happy to see and hear. I’m sick right now but Epsisode I listened twice too. The story was flowing good but I listen at night and fell asleep listening. I think serial killer is overrated that human...Read full review »

Like the story and enjoy hearing directly from the police who investigated the case. Find the theme music extremely loud and jarring though. No way I’m listening to this one at night when in bed.

Have read all of Michael Connelly’s novels and love true crime so no brained for me.He had me at everybody counts or nobody counts!

Really interesting, well put together, it would be gripping if it wasn’t constantly interrupted by ads. It completely ruins the flow; I’m pretty sure that Michael Connelly, with his success, could afford to sponsor the show himself. Shame to ruin an interesting story with greed.
Snappettysnap via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/25/21
How is this not national news? Connelly’s interviewing of the detectives is superb. The focus on the women that brought this guy down makes one wonder whether men see these victims as throw away humans- but women see them as women.

As a huge Michael Connelly fan, I really enjoy this podcast, both the true crime stories as well as getting some insights into L.A. and detective work from the author. And I love the tunes by Grace Kelly (not the princess). Congratulations on this great podcast!

I’m really enjoying the show. I’m on the episode the people vs Pierre Romain. I couldn’t make out the comment by the defence lawyer that is objected to, and the judge admonishes the defence lawyer and tells the jury to disregard. Can anyone tell me what was said?

Love true crime podcasts and this is no exception, but, although the narrator is a great writer he should stick to writing, he is very hard to listen to, sounding like he’s reading from a script in a monotone voice. Not sure I can listen to any more of his podcasts.

Murder Book tells a story in a way that weaves the elements into a cohesive and thoughtful narrative.
Ripperun722 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/24/21
I’ve been reading Michael Connelly for years and love all his books. It was especially neat to listen to him explain his inspiration behind his main characters while the real detectives worked through the case at hand. Truly a must listen podcast, and I greatly look forward to the next season.

Haven’t finished this yet but is very good podcast. It takes you from the start (crime)to all the court proceedings. Also it’s narrated by the author of Bosch.

Podcast is okay but needs significant editing. The first case is just not that interesting - car-jacking gone wrong in 80s LA was like dog bites man. Could have been three episodes - none of the recordings add compelling content. The second season gets weird. The Sam Little case is interesting,...Read full review »

Just as in Connelly’s excellent novels, his Murder Book podcasts are well paced, informative and dramatic. The haunting story of Sam Little’s predatory path through multiple states and the effort of Mitzi Roberts and others to bring him to justice is told in chilling detail.

This is the best crime podcast, totally focused, real and in the moment. You actually feel you are in the interview room, holding your breath as you wait for the moment when it all comes together.
