I tried to stick it out with the podcast, but it kept getting more and more speculative which showed the host’s bias and unprofessionalism. Also, her choice of words was off putting at many points throughout.

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and this one is at the top of the list. Maggie is an excellent host and investigative journalist with a pleasant voice (I listen to these as I fall asleep). Great job!

Let me preface this review by saying I typically do not have a lot of time to listen to podcasts. I, however, will make time for the right ones. I got the chance to meet Maggie at this year’s Obsessed Fest (which will probably be the last OF, at least the last one I will attend given the...Read full review »

I realize I’m late to the game. But that was a trip. Very thoughtful, explained everything from start to finish. Plus I really loved those investigators. They did a great job, very open to every possibility. They made me laugh too.

Love this podcast. I haven’t been able to stop listening. Love that Proclaim Justice is a part of this now.

This was reckless and probably very painful for the victim’s family. Hard to feel sorry for the host when she’s crying after being bamboozled by a killer because she failed to do her due diligence. Not listening to all of the audio interviews BEFORE airing the podcast was an egregious breach of...Read full review »

Maggie is so biased and reckless with her words I can’t trust anything she says.

I felt so captivated and sucked in. I won’t give anything away but the time spent on this by all involved was phenomenal. I’m blown away by the story telling. As a resident of Ohio I can tell you Alliance has a reputation it deserves. I hope one day they can clean it up. Take a listen it will be...Read full review »

Seemed like an interesting story, but since almost all of the material outside of the host’s narration (which has that unbearable Ashley Flowers cadence and phoniness) are crappy-sounding, poorly recorded phone interviews. I understand the interviews with the wrongly convicted guy have to be...Read full review »

This was an awesome podcast! I have done all of the true crime podcasts and I have to say this rates up in the top 5! I really enjoyed Maggie’s investigative style and reporting. Her style is easy to listen to and draws you in without over hype, just fantastic!

I found this podcast yesterday and just finished it the next day. I have never been so enthralled by a podcast but this one had me hooked immediately. Maggie is so easy to listen to. Everyone did a great job with the investigation. Excellent work. I can’t wait for another season to drop.

Maggie’s work on this poor woman and the accused, David, is amazing. This case is so heartbreaking and it’s disgraceful how terribly the crime scene was dealt with.

You all are doing amazing work. Maggie your voice is very soothing and shows real emotion which I love. Great job and production!

What Maggie witnessed from David is word salad. I will say by the end Maggie was either coached on how to narrate or I was finally numb to her staccato.

I started listening to podcasts earlier this year and was quickly drawn to the true crime world but more recently have gotten into wrongful convictions and corruption cases. I was drawn to this one because it’s from my home state, Ohio and so far, I love how in depth the episodes have been. Can’t...Read full review »

One the better true crime stories out there, we’ll researched, we’ll written, good use of objective media but drags on little too long with different perspectives culminating on the same conclusion ultimately.

I thought this podcast was pretty boring from the beginning, and it got worse when it got into the Jerry Springer realm. But I stuck with it until the one baby dad got into the exotic animals he owned and how much the baby loved the cougar and lion and whatever. He was a sympathetic character...Read full review »

This podcast is phenomenal. It is well put together and presented well. You can tell that a lot of research went into producing this podcast!! I’m from Ohio born and raised and up until this podcast I have never heard of this case! Job well done by all those that were involved in this case!!!

One of the most thorough and well done long form podcasts I’ve listened to. Very organized and easy to follow. I’ll definitely be going to listen to Maggie’s other podcasts now.

Really difficult to listen to the host’s cadence - I’ve heard this complaint before but thought I could ignore it. I love true crime/investigative podcasts - I’ve listened to MANY. This is a remarkable and well-formatted podcast! It features a unique way of navigating the investigation with an unbiased opinion. I wish more investigations would involve neutral investigators that want the truth and not just a paycheck. Hoping for a second season!

Very well done podcast. Complicated with twists and turns. At 6 eps in I’m hooked and hoping the truth comes out of this investigation.

I’m 30 minutes from alliance, which is why I wanted to hear the story. I also know how corrupt our justice system can be! The cops don’t care who’s life they ruin as long as they pin someone to the crime and it looks like they did there job!!! It’s sickening

This is such a thorough account! Maggie is a great investigator and was so honest with her revelations during this process. An emotional roller coaster.

The twists and turns of this podcast are honest and compelling. Still. I can’t help thinking about white male privilege. If he’d been poor, or brown, or ugly, would the impulse to believe him been less?

Rest assured, this podcast is well done and worth your time. Our justice system is the best in the world but in this case was a miserable failure. David Thorne deserves at least some of your time. He got hosed so bad it’ll make you throw up.

This podcast is so well done, but I have to admit it left me quite sad. It’s a nail-biter, beginning do end, and incredibly well researched. The story is told beautifully, but it’s not a beautiful story. Maggie is beyond gifted.

Absolutely 5 star. Maggie and her team do a superb job diving into this case. Unbelievable dedication. My heart goes out to this man who has been in prison for 22 years… He is innocent and the victim of a police coverup.

From episode 1 it seemed so obvious that there was no story here…. I mean, yes the police were absolutely corrupt and disgusting. I couldn’t stop listening. On my way to work, on break, on my way home, during house chores. Each episode gets better and better and heavier and heavier. Maggie does such a good job, and is so respectful during everything. I’m so sad I’m on the last episode. 😣
