Shocking account of wrongdoing!
Having watched with interest the events that happened at the time especially as I’m Irish and had holidayed In Mauritius a few months prior to John and Michaela I welcomed the opportunity to hear how everything has unfolded since this time. I found the staff at the hotel I stayed in which I believe was the sister hotel of the one John and Michaela stayed at, to be so lovely. In fact we came away raving about the beautiful gracious people we met. However looking back I remember how because we had tipped the barmen generously they plies us with free drink all evening. This became the norm throughout our holiday as they sought our custom in the bars each night. The podcast was shocking in so many ways. I found myself wondering how on earth you didn’t think to engage a PR team. What was your lawyer thinking not to advise you what was going on? I have recommended many friends to listen to the story. I feel it is quite unpolished but heartbreakingly honest and my heart breaks for what you al went through and I’m sure you still are. I hope and pray that some day justice will be done and if you have faith it might. Don’t ever give up! I hope you find peace and the ability to live your best life whilst never forgetting your beautiful Michaela. You could not have done more in her name. I believe Mauritius does not deserve visitors and didn’t protect and appreciate them. I would never go back. I also wonder if you’re lawyer was strong enough. What did hotel management do to protect you? How vulnerable are we all when travelling through these countries. For sure I will now be more careful.

It’s a pity there was no direction on recording this podcast, it was hard to concentrate and the audio sound echoey. Talking over each other, sounded like it was secretly filmed in a pub corner. Nevertheless a sad story and it must have been a difficult time

I listening to all of this and it seems the Mauritius justice system is inadequate. Can we crowd fund and bring a civil case against the culprits? I would be very happy to support this terrible circumstance in any way that I can to bring justice for Michaela.

I hope John McAreavey and the Harte family get justice for Michaela!
