BORing. Very blah 😑

I had a long review for this show but "blah" reflects the effort the host puts into this.Read full review »

Took 14 minutes of unnecessary build up from the start to get to the point of the story. The best podcasts go straight to the story. Boom

I like the stories but the delivery is flat and boring and seems unprofessional. The host really needs to stop reading the story and just tell it. There’s far too many uncomfortable pauses, mispronouncing of words, and stumbling to complete a sentence which appears to be on the next line of the...Read full review »

I love this show. I am pretty sure that I have listened to every episode. This is a show about violent crime in Alaska, but the host (Ariel) has a voice and style of speaking, that really draws you in, even if you are living nowhere near there. And, honestly -- even in regard to cases that I...Read full review »

I listen to a lot of true crime pods and this one stands out among them because it doesn't rehash the same stories we've heard 1,000 times. The host is fun to listen to and it's great that the stories are from her own state some of which wouldn't probably otherwise see the light...Read full review »

The host clearly has a love of her subject matter and takes the time to research. Out of the myriad true crime podcasts out there, this one is a keeper!

A great show hosted by someone who actually cares about these cases and does their research.
GG Alan Jackson via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/17/21
Ary is very well researched, has a great voice, no banter (although some enjoy that), and she grew up under the midnight sun!
@icarewhenyoudo via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/16/21
I just love this show. Her voice is nice to listen to and even though she’s talking about missing people or murdered, she still makes it informative an enjoyable.

A perennial favorite of mine. I’m a big fan of crime fiction, and these crime fact stories fill the gaps between the books I read.

Just listen to this podcast, and you should too! Interesting cases and informational.

Was so nice to hear the awesome Alaskan accent. I just started listening and is well thought out and nice to listen to. I love it and won’t miss a new episode.

Not your typical true crime podcast. It’s not the same stories you’ve heard before on every other show.

I love hearing about cases I haven't heard of before and the Alaskan focus is super interesting to me! I find the hosts voice very soothing and easy to listen to. Great show!Read full review »

I think this podcast was thoughtfully and compassionately done but would’ve liked more. I’m from Bellingham, Washington and personally knew one of the young men murdered on board the F/V Investor. Tragic loss, awful memory and still such a heartbreaking story.

Good topics but narrative voice grates because she finishes almost every line with an upward high note, then descends towards end of the sentence. It detracts from what could be a good podcast. Couldn’t listen to more than a few, as poor sound quality too.
jonnyrockstuff via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/15/21
Narrative and concepts are perfect. However the podcast host is a not very professional. I listened to 2 random episodes which both started with her apologizing and making excuses for a myriad of things. Sound quality was also an issue. Often I could not hear her speaking and it sounded like she...Read full review »

I really wanted to give this a go but “oh hells no!” Narration is dull, choppy, monotone and this girl has thee most non-engaging personality and tone ever on earth! She makes random assumptions not based on facts and adds useless commentary i.e. “for once she was acting like a decent person...Read full review »

The research is obviously exceptional and she does not sensationalize the crimes. Very sensitive treatment to the victims and their families, especially with unsolved cases. Engaging narration. Great stories, Down fall is all the stuttering and muddled reading along with the continued pausing and re starting of the recording Maybe practice more before recording. Has great potential to be an awesome pod cast 👍

Couldn’t continue listening to this which is disappointing because the story may have been good. Contact me if you’re looking for a better narrator.

I would love this if it weren’t for the host’s Uber liberal political views.
Dolfan77 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/09/20
Terrible sound quality, production, editing, and narration. She seems to just read off a typed up script. Interesting subject matter made uninteresting by the terrible sound quality and narration
kmurph84 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/03/20
I tried giving this a go and I hoped it would improve but the narration is so terrible. It gave me a headache trying to listen to it.
jill_electric via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/02/20
Started listening and couldn’t get past 10 minutes. I disliked the fact that it was all being read instead of actually talking as if we were having a conversation about the topic. Notes are great to have in front of you but reading something word for word gets old really quick.
Lanneah via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/28/20
The narrator speaks in a monotone. At first it didn’t bother me because the subject matter was interesting, but after a bit I realized that there is very little detail. I would have preferred much deeper dives into fewer cases.
smikgtre via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/28/20
Worst podcast I have heard. Scoffs while telling parts of the stories. Sounds like a teenager. Would not recommend.
Pinkby via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 07/25/20
The audio is so low she is very difficult to hear. And worse is her reading of the script. She stubbles and speaks as though she was given a piece of paper to read a moment before she was forced to read it out loud at gun point. It is painful to listen to. Sorry but while it looks so interesting...Read full review »

I enjoyed the content but the narrator lacked emotion and it felt like she was reading a script. Not everyone is cut out to be behind the mike!
Gritty610 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/02/20
I really wanted to like this podcast. The premise is great, but the execution is HORRID. The reading is unbearably bad. It’s like it’s the first time the narrator has ever seen the hand written script. I tried. I really tried.
Daveomoto via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/30/20
The gaps in the host’s speech makes listening to this podcast very unpleasant. It’s as if she recorded each sentence separately and then edited them all together with a few seconds between each one.

Weirdly sexist towards women..... Also could do without the convoluted opinions, sis! Just tell the story, let the listener form opinions, and you’ll be good!

This podcast concentrates on missing person/unsolved cases from Alaska but there are so many cases there (I guess) that it doesn’t have some of those less exciting filler episodes (not saying they aren’t important ok but all the cases I’ve listened to have been exciting). She’s currently making...Read full review »

The premise for the show is so interesting I was really excited to check it out. Unfortunately the audio and the quality of the writing make it impossible to listen to. Great concept for a Podcast, well hosted and produced! Excellent Pod!

I wish there was some effort here put into editing. It is obvious she is just reading from a script, when other podcasters have mastered that. She sounds nervous so there is an odd shaky sound to her voice. There is no finesse to the podcast at all. You can hear her clicking her mouse. So...Read full review »
