“I discovered this podcast a year ago and have finally worked my way through all the instalments and can’t recommend it enough.
Jess and Andrew’s banter is always engaging as they go from a hardcore fan introducing a relative newbie to musical to fans just having fun joined by Liz and Bree as well as the guests.
Each episode typically follows Jess and Andrew discussing a musical with a focus on story and music with fun bonus content like fixing a show, reviewing musical tv shows or bot written scripts.
I have so many random theatre facts, cheese names (that I’ve gone out and tried -chocolate cheese was disappointing-), bizarre American and British cultural touchstones.
I found the podcast through the talented princesses weekes /melina pendulum.
Each guest has a unique perspective mixing up the classic formula of two friends riffing of the strange and wonderful world of musical theatre.
I have never seen a Broadway show irl (live in Australia) but go to a big Sydney production annually and local productions regularly this show has introduced me to so many musicals I never would have experienced down under, especially grateful for A STRANGE LOOP as a queer individual with a complicated relationship with the Christian religion.”
