Was a really cute podcast, but has been too off topic as of late
First, let me explain what this podcast is and what it is not. What it is: A ctue an entertaining romp through all the generations of Hasbor's My Little Pony from the first gen released in the 80's (G1) to the fourth gen released in 2010 (G4). The series began with descriptions of all the ponies and playsets released in a given year. They are currently working their way through G3 and will presumably get to G4. New features have been added to the show during it's run including interviews with my little pony customizers and reporting on new releases and controversy including the recent craziness surrounding the release of a mini"firefly G1 replica toy." The hosts are very chatty and discuss their their collections, new ponies they've bought, ones they've lost over the years as well as their lives outside of ponies. The show is initially broadcast live with participants in a chatroom asking questions and giving feedback during the course of the show. It is later put on itunes as a podcast. I never get a chance to listen to this show live, but have no trouble understanding the show without access to the chatroom. What this show is not: this show is NOT an Friendship is Magic exclusive podcast. There are numerous other Brony/FIM geared podcatst outthere so if you are not interested in hearing about generations other than G4, I suggest you save yourself some time and check out those podcasts. This podcast is not a super professional production. As I said, the hosts are chatty and do not stick to the subject at hand. I find this charming and feel like I am tuning in each week to chat with good friends. Why I like this podcast: To be honest, when I first started listening to this podcast I probably would have given it only two or three stars. I used to skip forward an 30min to 1 hour past the chit chat. However, as I got to know the hosts I began to enjoy the chat as much as the reviews. The improvisational nature of the show makes it feel fresh and interesting. The reviews of the ponies and playsets are inciteful and it is interesting to hear the hosts memories of particular ponies. When they reviewed ponies from other countries "Nirvana Ponies" they often had experts in releases from those countries or guests from the countries themselves. Over all I would give this podcast 5 stars. It could be more professional, but in the end I found it charming, rough edges and all! Update: I came here to update my review to reflect the changes in the show, Having wrapped up the G3 ponies, the show seems to have devolved to "random talk." I really miss the episodes where the majority of the talk was about My Little Ponies or related subjects. If I wanted to listen about anime or other unrelated topics I'd find a podcast about them. Maybe Lil' Alleycat needs to come back on to get things back to topic :-/ Until that happens I will probably skip downloading/listening to the podcasts and will have to knock my original review down a few stars. Hope you are able to get back on track guys.Read full review »

More reviews of My Little Pony Talk
While I admire the obvious dedication to the podcast-45 episodes to date is no small feat-I’ve tried listening to do different episodes and barely been able to hear anything either time. I want to listen, but it’s not worth it to me if I have to blow out my eardrums to understand what’s going on.
