Who knew listening to someone’s purchase history could be so interesting? First listened to Keith Pottery Throwdown and now have started from the very beginning, smashing through them all and love that coming at an interview from such a different angle reveals a different side to Tom’s...Read full review »

What a format, one of my favourite podcasts, always feels natural and flows so well. Very funny and great guests.

Tom is a great host, effortlessly charming and cheeky. The stories he teases out of his guests about their purchases are frequently hilarious.

I was so happy when this podcast returned! I find it such easy listening - every week is like listening to a couple of friends having a chat. Tom is an excellent host and seems to be able to create a funny conversation about anything. I think it’s a great format - really interesting way to delve...Read full review »

Such a great springboard for natural and funny conversations about personal history, which are frequently interrupted by a co-host who steps on other people who are speaking in order to pull focus back to herself.

Loved this through lockdown but this series has been patchy. Nigel Planer and Beth Morrey were great but most others I’d never heard of and were not that interesting. Keen to hear more but perhaps broaden the guests out again?

Fantastic idea. I jolly well love listening to the lovely Tom and guests chatting about past purchases and the odd flight of fancy. Not too sure about if any one interviewed has actually purchased a toaster, but I have a vast back catalogue of pods to find out. Thank you and good day to you. xxx

One of those ‘why didn’t I think of that’ moments. Who knew so many interesting stories could be told, sometimes even surprising the buyer of random items. Absolutely genius - love it.

Realised I gave this podcast a lower rating in its early days. Updating to 5 stars because it has improved tremendously since then! Love Tom, great guests, great format

I can’t be bothered to write a review, but that says more about me than this amazing Podcast. Please listen to it, it never fails to deliver (and I don’t mean thrown over the fence!)

I’ve been a fan of Tom for a long while (love PC now Sgt Andy!), and I had seen him in stand up but I went to see this in a live episode and it had sucked me right back to the start and going through

Hhhhhmmm some great guests and some great and funny moments over the three series. Also some slightly cringey moments when Tom tries to be political. But I’ve always let them pass, you know … live and let live, own opinion etc. However …. I’ve just hit the Unfollow button in series four after a...Read full review »

Got into @toasterpod after listening to Tom on the cabin fever podcast. So glad I found it, it’s a lovely idea that works really well, lots of lovely stories and revelations 🥰 working my way through from the start, currently @ May 2020.

So lucky to have randomly found this but this is the perfect format to interview. So simple - going through years of purchases brings out the best stories you won’t hear anywhere else. Always a laugh

Tom Price proves to be the perfect host and interviewer, quick witted, sharp, funny, empathetic, probing. He draws out the best in his very funny guests. You never know where their shopping lists will take you but the meanders to get there are fun, silly and fabulous. Love it! Rufus Sewell is my...Read full review »

I have listened to the pod for a while now, and it has been a bit volatile in a number of ways, but this is the best by a mile. It’s clear that Tom and Andi are very good friends, she is bright, open minded, funny and doesn’t take herself overly seriously. This makes the very best of the format,...Read full review »

Have listened to 15 or more episodes of this now. The format idea is ace! Tom is a brilliant interviewer; thoughtful, probing, empathetic, quick and above all funny! I have laughed lots, sometimes cried and occasionally cried laughing. Highly recommend.

A great idea well executed, I have really been enjoying these even when not familiar with the guests - looking forward to more!

This is a great idea for a podcast but it just wouldn’t work quite as well with any other host. Tom Price is genuinely charming and speaks to every guest as if they’re the most fascinating person he’s ever met, even if they’re discussing a box of paper clips someone bought in 2007. The temptation...Read full review »

Just listened to the Olly Mann episode as it was linked from his Modern Mann show, loved listening to this and you’ve now gained a subscriber. I also own a fleshlight, though I’ve never thought to give a review, I may do now.

I love this podcast, such a clever hook to hang an interview on. You learn all sorts of unexpected things about the comedians and often come away with a great recommendation and on one occasion a great recipe.

A continually varied, hilarious, touching, embarrassing setup, My Mate Bought a Toaster is a brilliant way to spend an hour. Trawling through various Amazon histories drags stories out of the participants that most conventional interviews wouldn’t get near, and lends each podcast a candid quality...Read full review »
