Smart, funny, and informative (at the host’s expense, unfortunately)
I am a longterm fan of The Bechdel Cast and generally find the hosts smart, free- and deeply thinking, and emotionally intelligent. I was a bit skeptical before listening (I tend to be skeptical of any type of media that might, for some reason, romanticize elitism, classicism, and self-described intellectualism with a dash of egoism and arrogance masked in depression/anxiety), but this podcast wasn’t that. A well-curated breakdown of her experience with people in Mensa who seemed to fit the mold of what I expressed skepticism towards in my precious statement, Jamie remains one of my favorite hosts/comedians who maintains her integrity and wittiness. Worth the listen. It’s been quite the workday after New Years and I’ve managed to binge the entire series in one day simply bc I’ve found the series funny, smart, and informative.

Jamie Loftus’ superpower is her ability to simultaneously be unflinchingly vulnerable, incredibly insightful, and ridiculously funny.
